[Problem] Installation of Avast

Hi,

I have a problem when I try to install avast.
The error is : “The stub cannot run installer/updater executable 'D:\Program Files\avast\setup\Sfx\instup.exe (code 0x3)”

So I used FRS and both files are attached…

First remove McAfee, then try to install avast.

McAfee is uninstalled but when I try to start AvastClear, it makes the same error :The stub cannot run installer/updater executable 'D:\Program Files\avast\setup\Sfx\instup.exe (code 0x3)…

It seems to be a problem with an old folder that I cannot remove.

OK run this fix, if you still have the same problem I may need to remove Avast from safe mode and then try a re-install. McAfee is the problem at the moment

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

Thanks for the help!
But I just fixed it

The only problem was a folder with avast file. First I coudn’t delete the folder but then I did it in the safe mode. After that no problem with the installation!

You still need to uninstall McAfee … Recomended to follow essexboys advice
