Problem when turning on..

First of all, I have to say I’m not sure is it my computer or avast! that’s causing trouble. In order to find that out I scanned my computer with MWBAM (it found nothing), and i tried to re-instoll avast!, but it didn’t help either.

The problem is: my avast! simply won’t work when I turn my computer on (it’s set to start when turning on my comp). There’s a lil red x on icon, and it says my sistem is unprotected. When I enter Services and Applications (My computer) and try to turn it on by my self it says: “The avast! Antivirus service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automtically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.” Just to mention when I uninstalled it, and re-installed it again, it worked till I restarted my computer.

Any help? :wink:

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

I’ve never had anything else installed on this (only if someone who was fixing my comp did it, but I don’t know for that). I only have MWBAM.

have you tried avast repair ?

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

I don’t have Repair option, only Change. I’ll try that :).

Scroll down the last entry is the Repair.

So, I tried it and it worked about 2 days, and now it’s causing troubles again >:(. Do you have any other idea?

Here’s another try:

1 Open avast! GUI
2 Click on Settings
3 Click Troubleshooting
4 Put a check beside Load avast! services only after loading other system services
5 Click OK

Please post back if it works, or not.
