Problem with aswrvrt.sys (Will not start up)

I’ve been searching around for causes of this issue and general fixes, and I found the most references to these forums.

Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, Fairly sure the free Avast 2013 program is installed, and after rebooting the machine the other day (possibly after an update), bootup stops at the file after aswrvrt.sys. I can see this when attempting safe mode but not in normal mode.

I had a spare vista recovery disk to start the CMD prompt and created a FRST log, since that seems to be the most informative to solving this problem. I have attached the log as soon as I finished running it. Could some one step me through how to repair the damage, get back in to normal mode, and reinstall the AV?

Thanks,
NM

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same locations as FRST
Run FRST as before and press Fix
Once run reboot to normal mode

Thanks for the guidance! Sry on the delay, got held up yesterday.

The fix seems to have worked, and I can log in normally. The results of the log file are attached.

Are there any other steps I should complete before calling this case closed? Maybe a secondary virus scan?

Thanks,
NM

No problem you had an imperfectly healed MBR infection… Is all OK now

Awesome. Thread can be closed. Thanks Essexboy! YOU ROCK!!
