Hi, I have a problem with my avast free version 7.0.1426. When I boot my computer avast shows me the popup, which notifies me the update of virus definitions. The problem is that the date is wrong. For example about 10 minutes ago I started my pc and avast popoup appeared, showing me that the latest VPS update was number 120612-1. This is wrong, because If I open avast interface, I click on maintence" and then on “update” I can see that the latest VPS update is number 120613-0. Can someone tell me why avast popup doesn’t show me the latest number of VPS, but the previous one? I have noticed this problem since about one week ago, before all was working well. Please help me.
Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
You may need to reboot after the repair.
This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.
Now I try a repair of avast, as you suggests. I’ll wait for the next VPS update release to verify if the problem is solved or not. I’ll report back, thanks for your help!
You’re welcome.
ok the problem is solved, this morning avast popoup showed me the correct VPS number thanks a lot!
No problem, thanks for the feedback.
