Problem with IE Add on

I have an internal server that serves as a camera server.
It is running software from Avermedia that uses an add on in IE called WebCamX.ocx.
In Avast 4.8 I was not able to connect unless I put in an exclusion for the web server.
Now in 5 I still cannot connect and no matter how I put the exclusion in I still cannot connect.
IE8 just locks up.
Disabling Web Shield allows me to connect.

A demo site for the software is located at hxxp://remote.aver.com but it is rather slow.

Am I missing a place to put in an exclusion or is it fundamentally different?

Where are you putting the exclusion ?

If it isn’t here then it won’t work:
avast! Settings, Troubleshooting, scroll down to the Redirect Settings, click the inverted triangle to expand the details, enter the address in the Ignored addresses: field as you would have in 4.8 (other location).

I had put the URL http://servername/* in the exclusion but that did not work.

Ignored addresses is what I used in 4.8 and after adding that URL to the ignored settings in v5 it is now working.

Thank you!!

You’re welcome.
