Problem with installation of Enterprise Administration console

Hello,

I try to install the Avast Enterprise Administration console on a Windows 10 computer. I select SQL Express 2008 but then when I want to clic on “Next”, I have this error message: “Impossible to locate the SQL database”.

Then I go to Maintenance EAS to create the DB but it is not working. I clic on Test SQL connexion and I have this error message: “Cannot initialise Datasource”.

Other problem: Windows says SQL Express2008 is not compatible with Windows 10

Can you please help?

We try to install Avast Enterprise Administration on a Windows 10 computer. The Endpoint product is Endpoint Protection suite Plus.

Just install SQL Express 2012/2014 named instance with Mixed Authentication Mode.

Then configure the SQL Connection and finally create the DB.

So I tried to install the SQL Express 2012 so the database is created but I can’t connect it to the console. The console cannot locate the database I created.

Do you have any idea how to solve this issue?

It looks like you provided the wrong details for the DB connection.

Try with these instructions:

  1. Open AES Maintenance
  2. Click on the SQL Conn… button
  3. Provide the following details:
    SQL Server instance: (local)\TESTAVAST
    Database: avastent
    Login: sa
    Password: YOURSAPWD
  4. Test and Save the settings.
  5. Click on the Create DB button.
  6. Click on the Check DB button.7
  7. Open AEA Console and try to “Find” your server.
