Problem with installing Free Antivirus

My problem is installing Free Antivirus to Avast One. When I try to add the app, a window appears telling me I need to log in to my Avast account.

After logging in, the following screen appears:

However, if I skip logging in to my account, I get a message that Avast Free Antivirus is being added. This process continues and continues, but nothing happens. It’s as if it’s frozen, blocked.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I’m looking for help with a solution.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member. I have also never used Avast One.

I suspect this is due to having Avast Free Antivirus installed and Avast One tripping over and conflicting with that installation.

You may even have to do a clean uninstall of Avast Free Antivirus.
Clean Reinstall

    1. Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, avastclear.exe Avast Removal Tool | Download Avast Clear | Avast and save it to your HDD. Make a note of the steps required or print the page.
  • 2 - Now it becomes a little more complex Download the latest Avast off-line installation file for your Avast One that you wish to install and save it to a location on your system, so you don’t have to go online without the protection of the existing Avast Free Antivirus.

But for the life of me I can’t find it here - Avast Offline Installation Files | Avast and you don’t say which Avast One product you are after.Avast One downloads.

Thanks for the help, but reinstalling and repairing the program didn’t help. I’ve tried a dozen times. As I mentioned, the app asks me to create an account, but I get an error when I try to log in.

This is what the home screen looks like when I try to add Free Antivirus:

Login pop-up window:

This window appears when I skip logging in. The process of adding Free Antivirus continues, but nothing installs. It’s as if the program has frozen.

AS I have said the uninstall has to be done using the Uninstall Utility (Not Windows Uninstall) and it has to be run from Windows Safe Mode.

You haven’t confirmed having done this ?
Otherwise remnants remain and come installation time these will be detected.

With all due respect, I am not a computer novice and as I wrote earlier, I uninstalled the application starting with the dedicated Avast Clear program in safe mode, but it did not bring any results.

I think the problem lies with the application’s login process. Why does the program require me to do this? Apparently, Avast has already eliminated the mandatory account setup.

The next version will probably fix this bug, but for now, I’m giving up on this program. Unless someone finds a solution.
