Hello, my parish runs Avast 4.0. They have a license for 9 users. I put them onto Avast. I set it up for them in 2007. It was renewed in Feb 2009 and won’t expire until Feb 2011. They just called me saying that they are trying to upgrade it to 5 but it won’t accept their license key. They were asked to email Avast but were then told their email address is not registered with Avast so have thus run into a brick wall. I’m 99.9999% sure I used that email address when registering the software for them. I’ve tried submitting a ticket but since the email address is not recognised, I can’t log in to the website. I’ve tried several possible email addresses but none work. I’d like to avoid a long distance call if possible. Thanks. Any help would be most appreciated.
- avast! 5 Pro license convert from 4.8 Pro license. Try http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php now, fill in the form giving your email and 4.8 Pro License key and they will send the new license file to you (presumably it will check you have a legit 4.8 Pro license first).
Thanks David, I’ll try that.
David when I click on the link to the online form http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php, I get a blank page. It is a page with the avast header and ‘Support’ menu on the right hand side of the page but the body of the page is blank. I have a feeling it is because I need to be logged in to the site and again, it won’t accept the email address in order for me to do this. I tried resending the Free License as that is the only form I was able to find on the Avast website but from memory, the license we purchased was not upgraded from a free license.
OK looks like there is a problem on the support part of the site as other parts of it are returning blank pages, give it a try later on.
Welcome to the forums.
Problem solved. We found the correct email address it was registered under. Thanks for your help David.
No problem, glad I could help.
