Hi, I have noticed that in the section “real time protection/ file system protection” the graphic that shows the traffic protection (scanned files, infect files) has disappeared!
Someone can tell me if is it normal, or there is a problem with avast protection against viruses?
I attach a screen shot that shows the problem
Do you have Flash Player installed ?
The graphical statistic display require it and it has to be the IE version of Flash Player installed.
Do you still have the IE version of Flash Player installed ?
If so - Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
You may need to reboot after the repair.
If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling flash player.
yes, I have flash player installed…I’d like to know if the fact that avast doesn’t show the graphic interfers with the protection against viruses
If I go in traffic history the graphic appears, it shows the traffic oh today, las weeek, ecc…so what’s the problem? Why the graphic in real time protection isn’t showed?

No it doesn’t effect the protection it is just a graphical effect.
Follow the suggestions I have given (in this order if the first doesn’t resolve it, reboot, avast repair, reinstall flash player) as they are the most common reasons for failure of the graphical effects.
Thanks a loto for your help, I repaired avast and now the graphic appers correctly! Thanks a lot again
You’re welcome.
Sorry, I have another problem with avast: yesterday I made a repair of avast, using the apposite function to scroll down and repair a problem. After that, when I reboot my computer a second icon of avast appeared on my desktop, and in control panel avast now is 266 MB, while before the repair it was 144 MB…why this increase in the weight of the program and why the second icon on the desktop? can you help me?
Stick to the other topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=85349.0, you have created for this as there are answers in it already.
There’s one answer, I have already replied that all seems ok on my computer and on avast after the repair, but I can’t understand the increase in the weight of the program, so I tought that maybe you could solve my issue
There were two replies, one being mine also explaining the difference at the time I posted here. Now there are more so we shouldn’t comment further in this topic.
