Spyware Doctor has detected a potential malicious process.Do you want to terminate the process.

Hey… where are the screenshots…
Hmmm, you’re editing the post…
firstly, plz upload screenshots with lower resolution coz people with dial-up will have a problem on opening this page…and secondly its propably a false positive…i suggest u find the file spyware doctor warns and scan it at http://virusscan.jotti.org/ …
http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/eabservr/
Description: eabservr.exe is the executable that manages Easy Access Buttons control panel on Compaq laptop computers. This process is required for the Easy Access keys to work.
Does this ring any bells ?
Also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner I feel virustotal is the better option as it uses the windows version of avast (more packers supported) and there are currently 32 different scanners.
Hi Doc :
Have you looked through the threads on their forum
( www.pctools.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=54 ) or
posted a question on them rather than just used their
email "Support" !?
thanks davidr and spiritsongs…will run the scan in a few moments and i know the eabservr is part of the compaq/hp setup…just can’t understand why spyware doctor is reporting it as being malicious unless its a false positive ???
ran the scan davidr-nothing so not gonna worry about it-got to be a false positive :
the spyware doctor was giving this doctor a headache
They’re going completely nuts.
I mean, this serious false positive (eabservr.exe runs pretty much on all HP laptops, including the one I have :)), plus the nasty bug that prevents avast from installing/updating itself correctly… plus the incident with NOD32 about 2 months ago (SD was basically flagging NOD32 as spyware and automatically uninstalling it)…
C’mon guys! :-[
i was going nuts too VLK my friend with a-squared free false positive headache and now spyware doctor false positive headache…is there a aspirin to take for that
look a response from pctools who have spyware doctor…
