I receive inet traffic via 3proxy, and I can’t make avast work with it.
It does not get new definitions, and also I can’t register.
Avast was configured to use HTTP-proxy, also tryed SOCKS, same result.
What OS/SP do you have?
What exact version of avast?
Why using a proxy server on a client system?
Windows 7 Home\SP1.

You do not need a proxy server to connect 2 systems to one internet connection.
A decent modem/router will do.
Will a newer avast version work with proxy?
I could not install with online installer, so I got offline setup version.

Skip the repair part.
I did unistall Avast following that instruction, and got into another problem? described in topic ‘https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=152905.0’ (avast service stops).
And still it would not work with my proxy.
Now I’m to try AVG, which seem to have no problem with it.
