Since upgrading to avast! 7.0.1456 several auto start programs are not running at start up now.
Tray icons have disappeared, even for avast!.
Shutdown, or re-start takes over 3 minutes.
I have used the uninstall utility 3 times with fresh installs. Always the same results.
I am using windows xp sp3 with all the latest updates.
I have used avast! for quite some time. Never had these problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you run the uninstall utility in safe mode after uninstalling avast normally first, have you tried removing your avast exclusions from comodo firewall and reset them with allow all.
Just thinking here ! it is just comodo firewall you have installed and not the AV as well ?
yes, the uninstall was done in “safe” mode three times.
I do not run the Comodo AV as I have always had good luck running avast! AV with Comodo firewall.
What other security programs do you have on your machine now and in the past?
Did you add exclusions to your security programs (both in Avast and your other security programs mutually)?
Have you tried to change your settings > troubleshooting > “Load Avast Services only after loading other system services”
