I have just download AVAST internet security, and it looks to be a very good programme indeed, the only problem I am having is that everytime I try to update the virus engine, the message reads 'cannot connect to download747avast.com… sorry to be a pain but has anyone got any idea’s?
I have removed the programme twice and reinstalled but with no joy…

Looks like something is blocking avast! connecting to its update server.
Make sure you have removed your antivirus and firewall (if you had any) before installing avast! Internet Security.
Do you have any security programs (such as Antivirus, Firewall, Anti Spyware etc) other than avast! installed on your machine?
Set avast! to: Direct Connection (No Proxy)
