I have Avast Pro version 173 2291 and since Macrium updated their programme recently and, it no longer is able to run scheduled tasks because of the self defence module in Avast. I do so like using Macrium and so I had to disable the Self Defence Module to be able to run scheduled backups. I cannot post on the Macrium forum as I am only a user of the Free edition but, I was able to find info on their forum regarding the issue. I was wondering if Avast is aware of this issue and, if Avast has any plans to fix it? The version 7 of Macrium for free usage is not yet available.
There is a conflict with Avast and Reflect where it limits some of the functionality of Reflect indirectly. This is due to the Avast self protection option. The Avast self protection locks down a Window process called lsass.exe (Local Security Authority Sub System). Microsoft implemented the functionality for lsass.exe to be locked down, but provided a registry key so that lsass.exe will run as usual. However Avast ignores this registry key and forces lsass.exe to be locked down. When lsass.exe is locked down it can stop Reflect launching scheduled tasks correctly (depending on various configurations).
