royz4u,
I am puzzled by your query. You ask where to put the update Files(s). I don’t know whether you are referring to a version update installation file, or a particular VPS virus data base update file, but in either case there should only be a single file. You also don’t state what operating system you have.
If it is a version update, do you currently have an older version of avast installed, or some other antivirus program?
If it is a VPS update, what version of Avast do you have, and why are you not either letting it update automatically, or instigating the updates manually through the provisions in the “a” ball right click menu? Updates done this way are incremental and considerably smaller than downloading complete files.
If you leave avast to automatically update, I believe it will check at least several times each day. If you are manually initiating the updates through the program I find once each day is probably sufficient.
If you are talking about downloading the complete VPS file from here http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html ?
Then you only need to save it to your HDD where you can find it again. Now you just double click it and it will install the update in the correct location.
As you can see from the questions we need a clear description of what it is you are trying to do.
