Processor 100% because of Avast

Hey,

It’s been few months, something weird happens on my computer. Sometimes when I turn it on, the fan is making lots of noise and it is impossible to open a web browser. When I take a look to the task manager, Avast is using 100% of the processor. I need to restart it twice in order to solve this problem.

Does anybody know why this is happening? Avast is up to date on my computer and my OS is Windows 8.1.

Thanks!

Mathieu

Same here, got an overheated cpu warning, the second time i saw 100% on cpu cores.

Managed to open resource manager and Avast was using 99%.

Is this a known problem?

Maybe your processor occupation is related to this:

This problem has only recently started to appear, i have noticed others having the same problem.

Love the fact that people at Avast seem to be ignoring this problem.

Nice to know they care.

avast is not ignoring issues at all, but without more information there is nothing they can do.
What os/sp ?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or did you had it)
When does the problem happen ?
Have you tried a repair ?
Have you tried a clean installation ?

link to me where they have solved the problem,

“Avast is not ignoring issues at all” where’s the update that sorts this.

2015.10.0.2208
7 up to date

It started to happen with the latest program update.

It seems to happen randomly all 4 cores go to 100%
Task manager states Avast running 100%

Install the latest version and see if the problem is solved.
And please answer the questions.

I have reinstalled it - twice.

No other security related programs installed.
