protect pen drive

hi avast

my home net is dial up connection so it becomes sometimes hard to upload some big files on server. so i go to cafe with my pendrive.i know that in cyber many viruses enters in pendrive, so is there any way to stop those viruses so that they dont enters in my pendrive or blocks them?

G’day Krypton,

I used Panda USB Vaccine for all USB connection http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/usbvaccine/

I use the Panda USB Vaccine as well and no conflicts with Avast. Easy to use and free.

but panda usb vaccine is installed in my pc, not in pendrive.

do i need to install usb panda vaccine inside pendrive?

Yes, it is installed in your machine, but it asks you if you want to vaccinate your pendrive. The software also checks everytime a pendrive is inserted into your machine if it is clean.

but panda usb vaccine protects pc so that viruses dont enters from pendrive

but i want to protect my pendrive from cyber cafe pc…

It will protect your pendrive and your machine. Please go to the link http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/usbvaccine/ and read up on this more so you can learn about it.

how can my pen drive will be safe if i installed panda vaccine in my pc?

i will insert pendrive in cyber cafe pc…that pc having lot of viruses and viruses will enter in pen drive… its not possible to protect my pendrive coz usb vaccine is in my home pc…but not in pen drive

You then insert the pendrive in your machine, which has the USB Vaccine as well as Avast installed…so you should be protected. Obviously to reduce your risk, I would tell you not to put your pendrive in another machine shared by others, but I understand why you need to.

if i protect my files of pendrive with password, then is it protected from viruses?

I protect with
http://ali-k777.narod.ru/autoruncleaner.html

Just google protect my disk. It will add a undeletable autorun.inf , then your pendrive will safe…
Or Just try Trustport USB Security 2011…

I don’t fully trust this link and I wouldn’t even touch it >:( >:( >:(

Me too:
Flash Disinfector
http://www.precisesecurity.com/tools-resources/adware-tools/flash-disinfector
I use Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs

Keep in mind this doesn’t support window 7 unless someone checked it

I checked it. 8)

But… is there a way to fully uninstall Windows Defender on Windows 7?
You can disable it, but can you uninstall it?

Someone told me you can’t uninstall Windows Defender on Windows 7 because it part of the OS, or I could wrong and it would be too risky to try it on windows 7 :-\

Let me know how to un-install it.

This is a discussion of protecting a pen drive not Windows Defender.

Essexboy uses the Panda USB Vaccine. Many of us here use it with no conflicts. Easy to use and free.
