My computer boots up fairly quickly but the Avast Icon takes about another 15 seconds to become fully operational. I see the message…“you are not fully protected” until the Icon is fully operational. Could someone please advise if I am well protected until the Icon is fully operational.
AFAIK, it’s just starting up all of the services and it doesn’t say that you are fully secured until all services have started.
I wouldn’t worry about getting infected within 15 seconds of starting your PC, as I’m sure all of the important services have started by the time you get to the login screen.
What would be helpful is if when this condition is present that you click on the avast icon, that should then show what area is not fully protected. Commonly this is the Mail Shield and or the Web Shield, both of which are user level manual starts, so would be started manually by avast (depending on your setting, if there were enabled) after the main avast services and low level drivers, etc.
So if you can check that and report your findings ?
I have Avast and I really don’t understand it very well. A friend installed it. When I shut down my computer (which I have quit doing now) it takes ages for all the providers to come up. It starts my showing no protection and then quickly goes to 4 providers but to get to 6 it takes over 1/2 hour. Is this normal?
Please start a different thread since your problem is not related to the original poster’s problem.
Just cut and paste your post into a new thread and rename it.
To answer your question…no this is NOT normal.
When you repost, please mention what version of avast you are using, your OS, any security software (antivirus, firewall, etc.) you had previously on your machine and are currently using. Thank you.
