Publisher could not be verified...help please

I downloaded avast 4 home. However, when I try to install it I am prompted with the message “The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?”.

Of course I click “Run”. But instead of running the software, I am given an error message:

An error 1006(000003EE) has occured.
Last performed operation was:
opening the self-extract archive

Try to download setup file again.
If you use Internet Explorerl, clear it’s cache before downloading

I did this and downloaded the setup file a second time. But still the same problem. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to solve this problem?

From where are you downloading…
Try the official site www.avast.com and save the file to your desktop before running it.

I went to komando.com which linked me to the avast.com website. I don’t know why the Publisher could not be verified if I downloaded the software from Avast’s official website. other ideas?

Maybe because the download is corrupted. Can you try it again?
