I bought a new p.c. yesterday and immediately went into Add?Remove and started cleaning out everything I didn’t need! When I came to Python 2.2. I hesitated in my mass removal because I’m not sure of what it’s function is.
I went to Google but didn’t find a basic simple explanation of what it does! All I know is that it uses 29MB and if it doesn’t serve my purposes it’s got to go!! Someone get back with a simple explanation. Oh guess what they had the gall to have Weather Bug included among the programs, I tell you I couldn’t click that mouse fast enough getting that crap out!! Later!

yea its a programming language, It Is not really used anymore like it was. back in Mac OS 8.x a lot of Mac programs were written in Python. And some still are, and it is also used in windows for example the bit torrent client called Bit Tornado is written in python and requires you to have it installed.
Also the original Bittorrent program 
Large majority of Bittorrent programs is written in Python except few that are in C++ or Java.
