Bob, I generated two QR, one for the eicar.com and another for eicar_com.zip
Scanned in my phone. The default browser saved both files in the download folder.
I’ve scanned the phone and the sdcard with avast and both files were detected on demand. So, yes, avast! can detect infected files coming from download, but, no, they’re not being detected while downloading, only on demand and on installation.
Of course, this is NOT the final answer as I would need an eicar.apk file that I could not find in the web
Thanks Tech,
To be fully protected, the scanning of a QR should activate avast! to scan the code. Unless that happens,
it’s still possible to infect your phone. Scanning after the download isn’t enough to protect you.
Maybe one of the developers can give a little more insight on this topic.
