Anyone ?

You need not to adjust.
AIS will disable windows firewall because the two will conflict if both are turned on.
It is considered prudent to have only one firewall active so yes disable the Microsoft Firewall.

Hey Joey
Quick answer : With Windows 7 you can disable the Windows Firewall. With all other Windows versions it is better to keep the Windows Firewall enabled.
Logos explained it in detail here on the forum, but I can’t find that post now :-[

OK starting with Windows Seven, you can safely turn off Windows Firewall if you got another one running. Why? because a main additional feature to the firewall, in Windows Firewall, called IPSec (encryption of LAN and VPN communications) will remain active even if you disable the firewall. And this wasn’t the case in XP and Vista.
Hi Guys ,
Thanks for the info . I installed AIS (latest version) earlier today and after the initial reboot AIS came up , but the shields were disabled . I clicked the fix button but nothing happened after a minute or two they came by their self . This happens every-time after i start the computer and every subsequent reboot . Any idea what is causing it ? I have since went back to using Avast Free & Online armor Firewall until i can find out what is going on with the shields .Thanks for any help .

JOEY and all,
This is the relevant excerpt from my posting in response to MAG’s “AIS Customer Feedback”:
@MAG - Thanks for your input. A couple of things in your post caught my attention:
The Firewall turns itself off and won’t turn on when using the XP limited rights guest account … I know some other users have
also reported problems with the AIS Firewall refusing to turn on with XP…I always log in as Administrator, and have never been able to get aIS Firewall to run at all. Each time I start Windows (since
I purchased the license), I get the message from Windows Security that “no firewall is running”, and from aIS “Firewall is
turned off.” Clicking “turn on” has no response, so I’ve been using the Windows Firewall. (I’m running XP SP3.)Q1: Have the folks you know found a solution for this issue?
JOEY, similar to your post, I also notice that the shields are disabled at start-up, but all eventually come on except for the Firewall. I’d prefer not to use Windows Firewall (since one reason I purchased aIS was specifically for their Firewall), so I’m anxious to find a solution.
Thanks in advance to all for any assistance.
Hi Guys,

You can not use avast! AIS as it has a firewall with Online Armor Firewall as it has to be un-installed before installing avast! AIS.
Hi Yokenny ,
Thanks for the info & help . Yes i know that i can’t use Online Armor & AIS together . My problem is after installing AIS and rebooting , all the shields are turned and clicking the Fix button doesn’t do anything . Sometimes after a few minutes they (shields)come on by themselves and sometimes they don’t come on at all . This includes the firewall !!! For now i am going to continue to use Avast 5 Free & Online Armor Free . Hopefully they will correct the problem with AIS soon .
Thanks
