I have avast home, how do I scan a usb storage device?
Depending upon your operating system… go to “my computer” it will display your hard drive(s) and your USB storage device (as a drive). right click on the storage device, and in the menu you’ll see a blue “a” (for avast) scan feature… left click on that, then avast will scan that whole drive

You scan it like any other partition of your OS. It is just like scanning a floppy disk or a cd, you can also scan from inside the usb storage device, if you have downloaded a recent scanning tool there, DrWebCureit or Stinger.exe for instance, or you can even scan it from another OS, just go to the partition there, lets say drive F, no sweat.

You can scan using the skin application… just choose the USB storage drive as you’ll do with a floppy or a hard disk…
