question about Virus box

I was on pc today and a box popped up saying virus . so I did a scan and got rid of it . also in the CHEST FILES infected files there were these 3 things :

Kernel 32 .dll
winsock.dll
wsock32.dll

should I get rid of them too .

thanks so much Roz

They are part of Avast! system backup.
Backups of 3 clean systemfiles.
Don’t touch them.

Regards
HL

EDIT: I supposed they were in Chest/Systemfiles and they should stay there.

If they are in Chest/Infected files as you write, something more serious is going on.

I really do wish Alwil would get rid of this All Chest Files collation of the three sections:

  • The only area you should be interested in is the Infected Files section, this is where the files detected by avast and selected by you to move to the chest are placed.- The User Files section is where the user can add files they suspect of being malware but not detected by avast.- The System Files section is where avast keeps back-up copies of important system files in case the original becomes infected (leave them alone).- The All Chest Files is a collation of the three sections.

If you got rid of them avast would just create more backups ;D

@ hlecter
I don’t think they could be in the Infected Files section as Windows would likely have a whinge trying to move in use files, unless they were in a different location to the legit files.

I will double check and see exactly what file they are in . thank you.

You’re welcome.
