I have received my very first pop-up virus warning message from the Avast Web-shields v4.6.603 using the latest IE6 version, question is when I received a warning from Web-shields to I have to click abort connection.
10mins later I received the same message again a pop-up warning with a different virus from Web-shields is their another way around for me not to clicking abort connection, because the pop-up can be very annoying is their away to approved the Avast virus security warning. I mean I know Avast it doing it job and I don’t understand why when Web-shields show up and there is no virus in the Avast Chest section.
Do you understand what I am trying to explain cause I cannot find the right words to explain what is going on with Web-shields also I am having a little trouble trying to understand the help section.
Yes, you have made yourself clear. The Web Shield is designed to detect a virus that is “incoming” and about to be downloaded. It asks that you break the connection since this is the only safe way to deal with it.
Since the “virus” is never downloaded, it does not infect your computer. No download…no virus chest!
If you open up the On Access Protection screen…
and go down to Web Shield…
then into Customize.
You will see a tab “Advanced”. Open it up and check Silent Mode.
Any correction action will automatically be taken by Avast without disturbing your peace and tranquility.
Thank you very much for your reply, I got myself a bit about the Avast product whether the software it doing it job.
I have one more question the Avast Web-shields “Abort connection” does this mean this will shut down my internet online connection or this only shut down the IE6 Internet browers when Web-shields located a virus.
Yeah, “Silent mode” in the case of the WebShield provider simply means that avast will keep pressing the “Abort connection” button for you automatically…
