In Spanish:
Hola.
Mi pregunta es la siguiente: En intervalos de 30 minutos aparece el icono del escáner de mail de avast al lado del reloj, con la siguiente leyenda: 106-51-89.terra.cl Quisiera saber que significa esto.
Gracias.
Utilizo:
Windows XP Pro SP-1.
Avast Personal v4.6.652
Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro v2.6
Agnitum Tauscan v1.7
Most probably is the avast! email scanner icon that is passing from one server to scan an Inbound mail.
But, did you run a full avast scanning (with archive option checked) to be sure you’re clean?
Bien venido a los forums de avast!
Thanks to respond!
I made a complete scan but avast does not detect anything abnormal.
Outpost Firewall block and reports this:
Avast e-Mail Scanner Service
Protocol: TCP
Direction: Out
Remote Host: 106-51-89.adsl.terra.cl (200.83.51.106)
Remote Port: NNTP
I think this has something to do with your mail timing settings.
I have attached a graphic of Thunderbird mail settings I’m sure Outlook and Outlook Express
have similar setting they check for mail and are in turn scanned by Avast Mail scanner
Yes,P3t3rb0nn. I think the same as you say.
I had the same experience of BOCHA2004 the first times I used Avast! (19 months ago! ;D).
Welcome, BOCHA!!!
If you want to find out what program is creating the connection, look into the connections list in Outpost when you see that message and find a program has established connection with the mail scanner (ashMaiSv.exe) on port 12119.
