General questions are fine here, if it is regarding a detection then the viruses and worms section would be the place to post.
Depends on what it relates to, if you are using it in relation to its use to remove certain MBR malware then it should be in the viruses and worms forum.
That said, this tool isn’t one that should be used as a routine scanner nor should it be used without guidance, so the reason it is being used is possibly more of the question ?
The reason why was because I had used it on my old (now unbootable) computer to remove some malware in the past, but it had locked up on me at one point and wouldn’t allow me to kill the process (I have to admit that I panicked and hard-restarted the computer that day when that happened). I had a question about that issue that had kept bugging me, but had forgotten about it until now.
If there is still a malware issue on the old system, that should probably be addressed in a new topic in the viruses and worms forum, starting by outlining the problem, e.g. the reason for its use.

Given that you can’t boot on that system (don’t know if you have tried a safe mode boot), then it won’t be possible to run the tools and get the logs. But an outline of the original problem and what you did and the resultant problem, a malware removal specialist may have a way to get into the system using a bootable CD, etc. However it depends on the circumstances.
As I had said, the computer was unbootable (but the aswMBR lockup happened about 6 months before my computer died), so I went and rewrote the hard drive. It then decided it wasn’t even gonna start up (I actually ended up buying a new computer because of my old one dying on me).
My question was just in case aswMBR locked up on me in any kind of future malware removals (as I don’t have any malware on my computer right now thanks to avast! antivirus).
If it is unbootable then there is an FRST scan at the end of the topic
As I had said, the old computer is now in a box as it was unrecoverable.
My question is this: Is there any way to terminate aswMBR if it locks up and Task Manager is refusing to kill the process?
Yes a straight forward reboot will do that … Unless you had selected a fix option
