questions in connection with a Boot Scan:
- what is meant by “Repair”?
- if i elect “Move to chest” as the default action then what can i do if avast will not allow me to Restore an error?
- what can i do if the “Delete” default action turns out to be an error?
- when would i choose “No Action” as the default ?
- what is meant by “populate the persistent cache” ?
questions in connection with a Regular Scan {i set my heuristics sensitivity to high, and set my scan priority to high}:
[list]
- it has been my observation that most of the scan’s time is allocated to only a few files, and that these files have never yet produced infected objects: C:\Program Files … C:\WinDDK … and C:\WINDOWS. therefore, i ask whether it is safe to configure avast to Exclude these files?
- avast detected three C:\System Volume Information\ … ~.exe files as high threat infecteds. i have assumed that these three are false positives and elected to Do Nothing — do you agree? if these are indeed false positives, then is it safe to configure avast to Exclude C:\System Volume Information\ ?
