Questions

Hi all,

I hope you all well, Happy Easter.

I have questions that I hope I will get some answers from the avast! team.

I have been using avast! FREE ANTIVIRUS for a long time now and I would like to know:

1.Why is the avast! Firewall icon in avast! FREE version when clearly the firewall feature is not available in avast FREE version?

  1. Why is the SafeZone icon in avast FREE version when again clearly this feature is not available in the FREE version?

  2. I am currently using BETA 8.01484 and there is another feature that I would like to know if it will be available in the FREE avast! or will it only be available in the paid versions?
The feature I am talking about is: * SecureLine - is a paid VPN service that both secures and anonymizes your internet connection on public or “open” (unsecured) Wi-Fi. Nobody can see who you are or what you are doing on the internet.

My requset is for the Firewall and SafeZone icons please be removed from avast! FREE as they are of no use.
For me any feature that is not and will not be in the avast! FREE version should not be there.
Please only put features components that will function and have a purpose in the FREE version thank you.

They are greyed out, not that it is easy to tell given the contrast issues mentioned many times.

The short answer is I don’t know, but I have a bloody good idea, if they weren’t there there is no hook to remind you of them. Hopefully one day you will purchase the AIS version.

If all of these were removed it would seem very unbalanced.

In all honesty I couldn’t care less if they are there, I don’t sit watching the UI and it is only on the Home page as soon as I open the UI, I switch to the Security tab that give the most commonly used, useful/relevant information.

The SecureLine is a stand alone option that if you have a license for it, yes it can be used in conjunction with the free version.
