I have had Avast free for around 10 years now and I’m thinking about actually paying for the all inclusive package. The problem i have and what has kept me from doing it before was that i reformat my ssd’s and i change disks and hardware a lot. When i sign up it gives me access to three pc’s for the account. Now what i need to know is if i install the paid version on my pc now and reformat in three months will avast see my reformatted drive as a new pc or will it detect the new format as the existing pc and still give me access to 2 more pc’s.
The license is for X number of PCs (depending on which your purchase), that is for active installations, not the number of times you have installed it.
Having uninstalled the previous installation, you can install it again on the new image/ssd/hdd, etc.
You just have to have saved a copy of your license or have it resent - http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
You may also have to remove the old installation from the my.avast.com account before you can reassign the license to another installation.
