Ramnit.C in _avast_-folder

Hello,

I have noticed a phenomen on my computer and want to ask for a solution. I have Avast Internet Security 2015 v10.4.2233 and in addition Microsoft Security Essentials. The last one schows an infection of Ramnit.C all 15 minutes in the avast-folder on c:\windows\TEMP. The “infected files” has all different names beginning with “maiXXX.tmp”. All scans with different tools (Microsoft Software removal tool, YAC, Avast, MS Sec. Essentials) have no found other malware or viruses. Is that file-infection maybe a false alarm or what can I do?
Thanks.

regards,
Lutz

Yep, see: https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB11#artTitle
Be sure to get rid of MSE…!!

Thanks Asyn, but both tools was “friedly” existing until yesterday  I would like to know, what the reason is. Is it only a similar signature of that special file, you mean?
Thanks.

regards,
Lutz

Excerpt from the FAQ: Before installing Avast Antivirus software on your computer, please verify that there is no other antivirus software installed, including expired or trial versions.

When multiple antivirus programs are running on the same computer, conflicts such as false positive detections, performance degradation and system instability often occur. Therefore it is strongly recommended to remove all other antivirus applications before installing Avast on your computer.

Thanks

You’re welcome.
