Is Avast! blocks all ransomware, even new or unknown, from encrypting and demanding ransom for personal files?I am tried to nuke ransomware on machine(VM) and avast! free antivirus failed to protect me.It blocked only 18/30.I send rest of the files via virus chest. And not blocked them still now.Pls add New Features in 2016
Ransomware Protection.

This hasn’t changed in the many such posts, yes it does, but like all things in life, nothing is 100%. There are new variants developed so there is going to be a gap.

I have mentioned this before - ensure that you have a robust backup and recovery strategy - that way you can recover from almost any computer related problem, not just virus infection.

Can you submit the infected files (malwares) via http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php ?
Or you can move/add the files into Quarantine (Chest) and send them from there.
Thanks.

I know it doesn’t help much now after the malware infected your box, and I agree with your feature request for Avast 2016  but there are other tools targeted at preventing Ransomware. Personally I am using CryptoPrevent (free) together with Avast IS.

CryptoPrevent is one add on protection that many of us use.
David already mentioned that the only foolproof protection is a good system backup plan.
You should also make sure that the USB Drive you use for these backups is never connected to your
computer while the computer is on-line.
CryptoLocker Ransom Ware not only encrypts the files on your computer but also the files on any connected USB Drives.
