After a horrible infection with Win 32 sirefef rootkit/virus, I had to re-install Win XP. I have re-installed the free Avast, but how can I get the full Avast re-installed? I have my customer number and the original emails when I purchased it, but (not surprisingly) the original licence code no longer works.

I don’t know what version you purchased avast! Pro or AIS ?
Or: how long ago you purchased it, how long the license was for, where it was purchased ?
Later versions use a license file, license.avastlic and that is what is used for the Pro and AIS versions.
You can try to get a copy of the original license file (if that was what you had) - Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.
However, if it has expired, as in the questions asked above that may not be too helpful.

I had spent some time trying to download the whole product (AIS) again from my original email (the link for which did not work) when all I needed to do was to install the licence file again (attached to that original email) - it has upgraded fine from free to AIS. Duh!
