Re-registration for free version

My registration is due to expire.

Avast isn’t making it easy for me to re-register for the free version.

In the Your Registration screen there are 3 options:

Under Registration Information,

when I click the ‘Register Now’ button, nothing happens.

Under Upgrade

it says ‘If you have purchased an upgrade…’ which I haven’t. So I’m not going to press the ‘Insert Avast! Pro Antivirus/Internet Security license file’ button.

Then under Offline Registration

…it says ‘this method is recommended only if you are using avast on a computer with no Internet access’… which seems pointless. However the method seems similar to how I’ve previously registered to avast. So I completed the registration form about a week ago. But avast hasn’t emailed me with the license key.

What do you recommend?

When is it due to expire ?
Have you started to get update notifications/reminders ?

If not then that is probably why the Register Now button doesn’t work, though I didn’t think that that interface changed until you got the update notification. This normally happens 14 days before expiry.

Check if your ISP is using a spam-filter as that is the most common cause of non-receipt as the email should be sent automatically on completion of that form. Or perhaps you made a typo in the email address you gave. You could try the off-line one again using a different email address, like a free yahoo or gmail email address.
