RE: WIN32: Small-BSG (Trj)

I am using Avast 0635-2 that detected the virus: WIn32: Small-BSG (Trj). I have deleted all Windows temp files, using Windows ME, Microsoft Outlook 2000 for e-mail, SBC Yahoo for internet (they are a curse)…I get a NUM Lock when my computer first turns on, internet scripting errors when surfing. Spybot (updated and immunized) shows nothing. How do Ir id myself of these WIN32’s??? What settings should I change on my internet safety if any?

SOOOOOO…frustrated.

Sarah

What is the full filename where this virus was detected?

I hope this is what you mean…

C:_RESTORE\ARCHIVE|FSll.CAB\A000332.CPY.

It can’t be moved to the chest or deleted. Is this a situation where I have to turn off system restore???

Sarah

Yes the C:_Restore folder is a part of the system restore function and as such is protected by windows, the only way to clean infected _restore points is to disable system restore and reboot. This should clear ALL _restore points. Once you have disabled system restore, reboot, scan your PC again and if clear enable system restore.
