??? When I do a scan with Avast all files are scanned except C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download… file.
On the report I keep getting "unable to scan Reached the end of the file.
Is this something I need to be concerned about?
Thanking you ahead in this matter,
iddawg
Usually, no.
As DavidR explains, files that can’t be scanned are just that.
If it can’t be scanned, it’s either password protected, or corrupt. Usually, you don’t have to worry about them.
If it reports that there is a virus, then you should figure out how to remove it, by either quarantining the file, deleting it (as last option) or uploading the file to http://virustotal.com to see it it may be a false positive.
Again, though, it just means that avast can’t scan it, and that happens sometimes. Not usually a big deal though.
Thanks.
