Real Time Shields

Greetings. First post.

I have Avast 7. My “Real-Time Shields” are ‘off’. When I try to turn them on, a popup box appear with the following message: “The following component could not be started: IM Shield, P2P Shield, File System Shield.” I purchased Avast in February of 2013, for one year, so it’s not like I’m trying out the free trial.

Question: How do I turn on my “Real-Time Shields”? Thanks in advance for the correct answer. :slight_smile: :smiley:

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.
