I’ve got a really bad piece of malware that has installed itself in my comp. It is called Security Tool and it pops up constantly, won’t close and won’t let me download Malwarebytes. How can I get rid of this thing?
Hi seaclusion, welcome to the forum

As this suggests, the rogue prevents MBAM from running, so you will have to try in safe mode, and use a tool called rkill to help.
If that fails, then it may be necessary that we ask our resident malware expert essexboy, for more advenced help.

Thankyou Scott. I will try and see what happens.
Security Tools might prevent rkill from running but keep trying. It will eventually kill the process allowing you to run MBAM. Hope this helps

Thank you for directing me to the tutorial. It seemed to have worked. It would have taken me forever to find it on my own with all the pop-ups and such blocking the screen.
This is the second time that the people on these boards have saved my butt. Thanks once again.
Purchase Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) for resident protection that runs well with avast!
It has a one time fee:

You’re welcome, glad it worked
