try blackle.com as homepage…its a energy saving search engine(the search engine is supported by google)…its quick, reliable and ecological(not too much though considering how much power needs a pc to be on0…
Wow… Well, I hadn’t heard about blackle & fravia. Thanks for the input everyone. Keep it coming!
Whilst blackle.com is very minimalist and I like that being a dial-up user, I see no point in having a search engine as your home page. That honour should fall to a site that you visit most frequently if you bother with a home page at all, which I don’t.
I have avast and IE set to about:blank and that is locked, so nothing to hijack that.
That said I spend a bit of time on the avast forums as you might guess, but I don’t have my home page set to forum.avast.com/index.php, however I use the firefox Session Manager to reopen any tabs that I had open when firefox was shutdown.
That for me is a better option than any home page.
I have used Google for my home page for years and have no problem with it.
Search engine is Firefox…it’s fast and has been reliable
Trifles
You mean Firefox is your browser, i guess…

Hi Bob! All I can say about that one is: “Wow!”
I saw so many sites that I wanted to run from the screen. XD (Then again, I was on the tablet, so I had to scroll down the page.)
& pol, that’s a good suggestion about using the tour feature for a search engine. (That’s something I often overlook.)
Thank you both & as usual, thanks everyone.

I use my.myway.com as my home page. It has no ads or animations and loads extremely fast. I went to it back when I was on dial-up and the Yahoo home page kept getting slower and slower due to all the ads and things they kept adding to it. I’ve just stuck to it because I see no reason to change. My search engine is the tried and true Google but it is the only product of theirs that I will use.
