Can someone provide a link to register a key or should i just insert it and keep working? it is a pro key

Right click the avast! blue ball then About avast! then License key… and paste the key in there.
should this licence be registered somewhere at their site or just in the space of AVAST blank space. i have already done that.

you said its a pro-license… where did you get it from? (did you buy it?)
if you bought it you don’t need to register anywhere… just enter the licence to your installation of avast! and it should work straight away

no it waas given as a gift from a friend of mine and did insert it and it is active and fine but i thought i might need to register it somwhere . if not it is ok with me

I assume that your friend got the licence in a legal way and so you just have to enter it in the program like YoKenny already said… no additional registering
