Afaik, V7 isn’t supported anymore, so I doubt you can get a license.
Thank you, the def files are updated just like the newer version and that is all that matters to me right now
on the XP home machine…if anyone has a spare key just to get it registered would be cool…just dont want to have to re-install every
30 das
Same situation here, any help on re registering V7?
Hi. I have a free reg key until dec 2018. I tried to use it for register my version, but i have understud that the registration with key is no more supported. Also the offline reg. I insert the key, the process start and appear a error window. So…
hayc59 — As has been mentioned by avast, registration is no longer required. It was additionally added that older versions keep working fine even after the registration expires.
I’m in the same boat as you. I have Windows XP and the new avast 17 won’t work on it. So, I am still using avast 12. As I type this, my registration has been expired for around 2 days. In recent times I have twice done the thing you mention — the reinstall every 30 days. But, it is actually not necessary.
As you mentioned, the daily virus definitions will still be downloaded. Even in this status, here and there my avast WILL still inform me of some malware that it blocked. And with certain of my PortableApps.com apps, it WILL do that quick check when I bring them up. So, it is true. Avast does keep on working after the registration expires. The only difference I see is that the avast icon in the system tray is X-ed out and not animated.
And manual scans work fine as well.
