registration trouble

Hello,

I tried to register again Avast Free Antivirus via UI Registration and the antivirus posted me a message: “The system cannot find the specified file”
Then I tried to register offline with the form on the website and I entered the code supplied and then I had the message “Invalid key”

I need help.

Thanks

It take it you mean the three character Captcha code, I don’t know if it is case sensitive, try lower case, if that doesn’t work try upper case.

I’m not sure what button you pressed to Register, but it sounds more like you used the Enter Pro or AIS license, as the “The system cannot find the specified file” error seems more like it is trying to find the license.avastlic file which isn’t present or required in the free version.

So the on-line registration is the one you should use if you have an internet connection on the system you are trying to register. See https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=612#idt_01

I too am having trouble registering free Avast. Downloaded and installed but have not uninstalled other antivirus program yet. When trying to register clicked on “Register Now” then “or register free antivirus (base protection only)” and nothing happens. I also tried right clicking the Avast system tray icon as suggested by David R and end up at Register Now again. Any suggestions anyone, please?

Please add me to this thread. I have just mentioned the same problem in the context of a different topic and don’t want to miss hearing the magic solution.

The off-line registration isn’t the ‘Register Now’ button, but further down in the Offline Registration section, ‘Registration Form’ button, as is outlined in the off-line registration link that I gave.

I’ve followed the instructions posted on website and after pasting the code you sent via email I receive the message “XXXXX is not a valid licence key”

The other online activation method does not work either, having the same message as posted on the top.

Thanks

Maybe you can use the trial version for a while until this glitch is solved.

The online offline registration appears to have worked for me whilst Avast is sorting out the trouble at t’ mill (as they say in Lancs)
