Remote Access to computer with Realvnc

Hello,

I am trying to access my computer using realvnc. When avast is running I can’t get through. I can only get through when I turn avast off.

I am sure it is in the webfilter, but can’t find the right switch to turn on.

Thank you for any help.

hmm, I don’t have a problem and didn’t have to do anything special.
At what point is it failing? When RealVNC loading? When trying to connect?

beaudaicous, thank you for the reply.

It will not even begin to load. I click the address and then it times out. I turned off the avast this morning and it goes right thru.

Into the firewall settings, are the following programs allowed to connect?
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe (avast! Web Scanner)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe (avast! e-Mail Scanner Service)
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\avast.setup (avast! Update executable).

I use UltraVNC for remote assistance. I had the same problem with avast blocking it. I had to go to the Additional Protection tab and go into the AutoSandbox settings and add the VNC program to the list. Now it works with no problems. Hope this helps.

I know it’s and old thread but i have the same problem, if i turn off the firewall then vnc is possible, but not when it’s on even if it is allowed in Application rules.
