One of my old computers (it came with XP) had a fatal hardware failure and is no longer usable. How can I remove it from my Multi-Device subscription user list to make another device available to the 10 allowed?
Does this help you: https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Transfer-subscription/#pc
It definitely helps, but does not solve my problem. The computer I want to remove Avast from has a blowed up power supply, never to work again and about to be trashed. I need to have that device’s script remotely removed.
If we cannot even see a list of devices that are included in our multi subscriptions, I would think that only Avast could remove it. Maybe the software has to be removed from all the devices, the account closed/reopened and then reloaded to the working machines. As my account expires in 1 month, I may let it lapse and then reup, but that’s a pain I am trying to avoid.
In what way doesn’t it solve the problem ?
First I don’t have an Avast paid product with a multi user so I can’t speak from personal experience.
If you have an Avast Account (which you should have) log into that from another system by opening the account (or from the new system) you should be able to see the other systems it is installed on.
Or also check out this option https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/70/?option=pc#pc - Avast Account.
Sorry, but I don’t see where it shows how to remove Avast Ultimate (Multi-Device) from a
non-functioning computer.
As I said - I don’t have an Avast paid product with a multi user so I can’t speak from personal experience.
So I’m thinking laterally here - You use another computer that has an active Avast Premium to log into your account, this should show the computers that are linked to this multi-user subscription. Remove that for the dead machine and it should then be able to assign to the new system as and when you have it.
I agree that my account should show the devices, but alas, it does not; only the total number. Thanks for trying.
Sorry it didn’t work out.
You could try this.
Refunds, cancellations, billing, payment or license issues and click Next.
I need help with a different subscription or billing issue.
Depending on your location you can Phone or Email - I think the email option may be best as it establishes a support ticket with your email. Give as much information that you can to help track down your payment and reissue the license if it has gone to an incorrect email address. You could also give a link back to this topic.
I have underlined the option (in the above text) which is closest to your issue.
According to avast, as long as you don’t use the device again (this is the case of a crash), you won’t have any problems.
So don’t worry about your out-of-order device, even if it still appears in the total, avast won’t hold it against you even if you’re at the limit (it will display “used on 11 devices”).
The 11th device will naturally disappear after 30 days of non-use.
ps: in the link I give MartinZ was part of avast at the time.
Thank you.
