I’ve started getting email signatures mentioning avast in my email again.
This is the article which I’ve already read and acted on several times
https://support.avast.com/en-gb/article/Antivirus-email-signature/
I’m just posting this here that as of today i have definitely unticked the box saying “no signature” using Avast Business 20.8.2615 (build 20.8.5684.613) in accordance with the above instructions.
I have also validated via a test that the signature is definitely not there.

The reason for this post is not to ask for help, I have the article. It’s to remind me to uninstall avast and buy a competitor’s product the next time the signature appears because I am FED UP REMOVING IT and it making a reappearance without warning
Having bought and paid for this product I’m not here to serve up your adverts for free, especially when a text link has actually as much real credibility as saying “This email signed by God”. It’s literally a piece of HTML that could be written by anyone without avast and since you’re not signing the email with a hash is utterly pointless in terms of security validation.
This email signed by an annoyed person fed up with having their time wasted.
The marker for “have a free bit of advertising on us” is put back on every time I reboot.
Stop it.
What version of Avast Business are you using: managed or unmanaged?
If you are using a managed version, you must change all the settings on the Avast Business Management Console to take a permanent effect.
Apparently the reseller thought it was a good idea to have this on by default.
After 5 weeks of emails, hours of diagnosis, a few postings here, an insistence I come to the shop to have it fixed, a remote login session and several reboots it’s still infesting my mails with an advert.
I don’t know who to blame more, the shop for their incompetence or the manufacturer by inserting such a pointless and laughable feature in the first place
This email has been checked by The President of the United States.
- no, it hasn’t really but it has as much authority as a bit of HTML in an email.
I won’t be buying from the shop in a hurry and I won’t ever be buying anything from avast again. I simply don’t have the time or patience for timewasting.
Competitor’s product purchased.
Whoever thought the spam setting in a paid for business product was a good idea needs to have a rethink.
The reseller says “it seems since 2018 avast have tightened down what we can and cannot do. Since I have more access now i have dozens of pages to go through for custom setup.”
I’ll be leaving several one star reviews. Shouldn’t need this much effort to untick a box.
