Hello,

I’m requesting assistance with a false positive affecting our client’s website.

Avast is currently detecting/blocking the website with the following message:

“Hold on, this website isn’t safe”
“We’ve found malicious code on this website that could harm your computer or steal your private data. We recommend avoiding the site completely.”

The website is legitimate, and we believe this detection is a false positive.

We have already submitted the website through Avast’s official false-positive reporting form multiple times, but unfortunately the detection has not been resolved.

For privacy reasons, I prefer not to post the website URL publicly. However, I can provide the URL and any other information required privately to an Avast moderator.

Could an Avast moderator please escalate this case to the appropriate Avast detection/false-positive team for review?

We would be happy to provide screenshots, the exact detection details, submission/reference IDs, or any other information needed to investigate the issue.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

Not sure why you are concerned about publishing the URL, just post the domain name without the .com suffix etc so it isn’t active.

In the meantime you could check the site out at these locations.
New location to report both a False Positive and or a False Negative (for File or URL) - Choose Your Sample Submission Type | Avast Also see How to submit a file or URL to Avast for review | Avast for information and links. - You won’t get a direct response but it should be analysed within 48 hours, if found to be false it will be removed.
Ordinarily I would try and draw some Avast Team input into this matter. Without a domain that isn’t possible.

There are sites that can also check a site link.

Posting the link for the VirusTotal scan results would help to do that, but indirectly it would still be indirectly showing the site in the results.
