Is it possible to have Avasti just check incoming email ? I reduced the Redident Protection to disabled and it stopped checking for mail, but when I set it to Standard it checks every program and file I and my programs open.

I KNOW this is a safe thing to do but it is realy slowing my PC up and I am taking the view that if I protect myself from incoming virus’ I’m pretty safe (no infections for 3 years…)

You can switch of the Standard shield permanently and let just the Internet Mail or Outlook provider running.

But - i is really much safer to use the Standard Shield and I believe its overload in Standard mode is not so big…
