How do I put on the resident protection ?
-= By default it is on… but if you turned it off… double click the blue ball “a” icon and choose more details then select standard shield… click start…
Började det inte när du Avast installerade och startade? :S
do u need resident protection or is one covered with normal protection? resident protection seems to slow down my pc.
thanks in advance
-= It is very VITAL for an antivirus… It is the antivirus itself… Without resident protection, you make your pc a den of viruses… unless you regularly run thorough scans…
How many providers are running? (Or “Tjänster”, if you are using swedish in avast)
Move the mouse pointer over the avast ball in the tray area and a popup window tells you how many providers that are running.
No providers are running and
yes, I’ve already tried to put it on by pressing start … it just says “This operation can not be completed”
Should I reinstall ?
Did you have another antivirus software installed on the computer before avast? If yes, how was it removed?
After you’re sure that there is no other antivirus or remains of an old one, I suggest an installation from the scratch:
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
- Boot.
- Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
- Boot.
- Install again the latest avast! version.
- Boot.
- Check and post the results.
I had Norton antivirus and
when I installed Avast it asked if I would like to uninstall Norton and so I did, so I presume it’s gone
No. It’s not.
- Remove NAV or Norton 360 through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
- Use Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Norton Removal Tool for Windows 98/Me. Boot.
- Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.
The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer.
It’s runs perfect now ! Thank you
Nice to hear that!
Wow! Quite good!
