resolution / information window problem

hello all, I am using Avast Free antivirus on windows 11 Laptop and resolution set to 1366x768 (which is recommended for my laptop) and scale of 100% which is also recommended - yet when I get notifications of Avast the words all fall off the end of the box , such as this for example with no scroll boxes so I cannot read the messages properly on screen - other messages from Avast are like this as well when they pop up on my screen , say if its moved a file to quarantine or asks to resolve or ignore.
Any ideas please?

The problem with reducing the resolution (below what the OP already has) increases the size of the font as seen in the OPs screenshot.

So 1280 x 720 may make the font size on screen bigger and that would have the same impact on the Avast UI. Since 1280 x 720 is even smaller than the default 1366x768 making the font size even larger.

My 27" monitor text size is fine for general windows, but for my browser I use the Ctrl and + keys to increase, this works in many other Apps but not in the AvastUI

However, I don’t believe this would be reflected in the Avast UI only increasing the Windows resolution would reduce the text size in the AvastUI.

This text size in the AvastUI has been around for many many years Avast should certainly look into being able to change the size in the UI or make the Main UI Window variable.

I agree but there could be another thing involved if the OP has adjusted the System > Display > Scale settings.

These are usually Default (100%), Medium (125%) and Larger (150%)

I use an odd monitor size 5:4 and that works best for me at 1152 x 864 at the default setting but with a 16:10 monitor I find the highest resolution it supports just makes text on some web sites and programs too small for comfortable reading.

So I use 125% scaling and most of the time I have no problems but, occasionally, I do run into some display issues similar to those you describe with AVAST. Not seen this myself but worth checking the scaling settings.

But I’d go with DavidR and try a different resolution. Your laptop must support 1920 x 1080 and you could try the other way and go down to 1280 x 720 which is likely supported too.

Unfortunately the Avast UI (the main bit that you are encountering) has a fixed size, with such a low resolution the text size is very large. A very long time ago I had this issue and changed the screen resolution to effectively reduce the text size. What size screen is on your laptop ?

This article is from 5 years ago and they were saying then why do we still have 1366x768 - whilst this is recommended in the Windows Display

When you consider you have a window 11 system, it make you wonder why that is the case with a modern laptop.
You could check the Change the resolution of the display in Settings and see if it allows you to up the resolution

I have an old 15.5" laptop that is over 5 years old and that default is 1920x1080P I have that hooked up a 27" Monitor display at 2560x1440. My old laptop is however able to display this higher resolution (the reverse too darn small to read comfortably). So if you were able to up the Display Resolution a little (you can easily revert these changes), which would reduce the text size. This may help in this instance and you can revert after doing what you have to do. You may even like that and keep it.
