(RESOLVED) SAFE ZONE Error.....Browser not connecting to server Beta 6.0.1044

I have a problem with SafeZone on my XP Desktop.
I have not been able to connect to any of my websites using safezone.

Error 104 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED): The attempt to connect to the server failed.
Also says, may be temporarily moved or changed address ??? ???
No problem with the Laptop XP. :-\

Edit: Am I missing a setting or something?
Anyone else having ‘server problems’ in safezone?
Regards. 8)

EDIT: To clarify, SafeZone itself loads with no problem, however when trying to load Browser page there is a “can’t connect to server error”

No problem on my XP Pro system.

@ YoKenny
Thats what’s so frustrating, I also have no problem on my XP Laptop.
But yet, since upgrading to .1044 on Desktop now I can’t get SafeZone Browser Avast Page, or any website page for that matter.
Man ??? :-\

I guess a Celeron with only 512MB RAM does not have enough power to run SafeZone Browser!
It barely has enough power to run XP!

Well I don’t know?? Absolutely no problems previously. Server issue just began.
All in all, even though the old desktop run 512mb, it’s light, clean and just 50% of RAM used at peak. So the inability to connect to server should be a seperate issue all together don’t you think? ???
SH.

I had a similar problem with the safe zone. The cause was that the firewall checked for internet access in background.

I don’t have my old system with 512MB RAM but I know that it barly ran XP and I’m sure would not try SafeZone on it and I would not even try.
It worked well with avast! free though. 8)

Well it’s a mystery to me. Computers, everything purrs along and then out of the blue (for no apparent reason),something changes. :-
It does however, resemble a Firewall blockage.
Will investigate.

Turns out the problem originates with OPFW.
Some settings changed in OPFW when updating to latest v.7.5beta,
Disabled firewall and no problem
Go Figure ::slight_smile:

Could it be, that the firewall asks in the background for access?

DJBone

Yeh, appears to be the most logical explanation :-\ and how would you ever know at the time> you wouldn’t see the popup request. ::slight_smile:
Thanks 8)

I use the Alt+Tab combination to switch. I had exact this problem at the first time when i use safe zone.

DJBone

Well there’s one for the books. You learn something everyday. :stuck_out_tongue:
It didn’t occur to me at first, but now that I have added SafeZoneBrowser.exe in OPFW Application Rules to “Allow all activities”
Problem resolved. ;D

That’s nice to help a Evangelist ;D
